There are two main options available for business owners to deliver their products to Japanese customers. The first is shipping from outside of Japan. With this option, clients may use their existing warehouse in their country and then have their warehouse linked to the Amazon Global Selling and Rakuten platforms. Whilst this works, Japanese people often prefer buying from within the country, particularly for the shorter delivery times. Amazon Prime has become common place, so Japanese customers often choose sellers that can offer next day scheduled delivery, over experience a long waiting time for the same item at a cheaper price.

 

To counter that, WASABIZ has several logistic partners within Japan to find a domestic warehouse for your product. This will allow you to use Japanese couriers such as Yamato and Sagawa and also enter the Amazon Prime next day delivery scheme.

 

Delivery is not the only consideration when it comes to entering the Japanese e-commerce market. Due to the nature of the language, Japanese people are immediately able to tell when someone has used a translation app to translate the description of a product. A lot of customers will avoid those products, due to feeling uncomfortable.
